Mike Nields Memorial Denver City Crit
On Sunday August 7th, the Whittier neighborhood will play host to one of Colorado’s premier road cycling races – the Mike Nields Memorial Denver City Criterium
The race, formerly known as the Bannock Street Criterium, is in its 27th year and attracts amateur and professional level racers from across Colorado and the country. The race also is the venue for the Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado Junior Criterium Championship races, showcasing youth racers ages 9-18. The race is promoted by the Front Rangers Cycling Club (FRCC), a non profit organization that since 1993 has been bringing cycling to urban youth in the Front Range through a variety of programs. The FRCC appreciates the support that we’ve been given by the neighborhood, from the various local business to the Whittier Neighborhood Association. We look forward to putting on a fun, safe, enjoyable race with minimal impact to neighbors. Course set up will start the evening before the race and racing will be complete by mid-afternoon. We are thankful to the Nields family for their continued support of our coveted race; without their assistance this race would not exist – thank you, Nields family. |
